Our Songs

Our 2nd AnniversaryYes, ladies and gentlemen, we've been married for 2 years (and counting)!
It is written that: "He who finds a wife, finds a good thing, and finds favor with God." - Proverbs 18:22
God has truly blessed us. During the last two years, Kandra and I have not only grown emotionally and spiritually, but we've started our own business and are looking forward to the fulfillment of God's promises during 2008, and growing closer to Him.
Proverbs 31: 10-31 "A wife of noble character who can find? She is worth far more than rubies. Her husband has full confidence in her and lacks nothing of value. She brings him good, not harm, all the days of her life."
"Many women do noble things, but you surpass them all."
"Charm is deceptive and beauty is fleeting, but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised. Give her the reward she has earned and let her works bring her praise at the city gate."

How We Met The day was November 3rd, 2003 when James received a determined (yet graciously frantic) e-mail message from Kandra. She was just 5 weeks shy of graduating with her Master's degree in Journalism and Mass Communications from the University of Florida and she needed some assistance with the final formatting of her master's thesis. James, the technical coordinator for ETDs (Electronic Theses & Dissertations), answered her e-mail and set an appointment to meet Kandra a few days later.
Little did they know that when they met on November 6th, 2003, they would be embarking on a lifetime journey. Upon Kandra's graduation, she and James began getting to know one another better, and this involved sharing a lot of information back and forth. When asked about the early stages of their relationship, James was heard to say, "I felt like I was being interviewed! But I guess at our advanced age, we don't have time to find out all the details by accident. So... the reporter in Kandra came out and she presented me with numerous questions. No holds were barred, and by June of 2004, I knew that this was the woman for me.
I was captivated by her beauty, strength of character, and of course, her cooking," James continued.
Kandra has two children (Drea & Mira) and they've taken to James rather quickly. Kandra is an outstanding mother and she demands excellence from both her children.
Over the course of the year, Kandra and James have grown together both emotionally and spiritually. Currently James and Kandra are members of PASSAGE Family Church in Gainesville, FL. "Kandra has helped to enhance and restore my personal relationship with Christ, and for that I will be forever grateful," James said smiling gently.
The Wedding took place on December 3rd, 2005 at 4:00 PM EST
in the Baughman
Meditation Center on the University
of Florida campus. The Baughman Center consists of two separate buildings:
a 1,500 square foot pavilion and a 1,000 square foot administrative building.
The pavilion has fixed bench seating that accommodates 96 people. The exterior walls are made of natural Florida cypress stained to reflect its natural surroundings and grooved vertically to represent individual tree trunks.
Immediately following the wedding ceremony, the Celebration Ball was held at Steve's Cafe Americain. The Celebration Ball was a formal affair and the food was delicious!
James and Kandra discovered that one of their favorite places to go to "escape" was Walt Disney World. Therefore, it was only fitting that they chose the Walt Disney World Resort as their honeymoon destination. They spent 4 days and 4 nights at the Grand Floridian Resort & Spa.
"I used to hate theme parks, but for James, l made an exception." - Kandra
When asked what he thought about the years ahead, James remarked, "Kandra and I are really looking forward to our future together. She's the most amazing woman I've ever met, and I pray that with God's help, I can make all her dreams come true."
